Huh? LOL I think I'm slower than usual today. I don't understand the reason for a provisional cast on. Doesn't a provisional cast on allow you to put the stitches back on the needle to knit them in the other direction? I don't see how that would apply on mitten tops. Could you please enlighten me?
BTW you were the one, I do believe, who pointed out that the afterthought thumb is easy and works out well and so I had to try it. For a new technique, any excuse will do, and small amounts of yarn made a good one.
