For me, it was just easier to learn dpns than to convert a pattern and it turned out that they weren't such a big deal after all. I did start with metal dpns which were a disaster but once I found the "grabbier" bamboo dpns anything was possible. You might give them a try.

Yep, I agree. I did start with them on the top of a hat though so it would be much easier. I do prefer circs now but use bamboo if I'm going to use them now. I hate seams.
