Sure you can do it - garter stitch in the round in alternating a purl round with a knit one, and you'll leave off the edge stitches since you won't be seaming them. So you'd probably only need to do the repeat stitches between the *s which is a 9 stitch repeat. The WS rows would be knit instead of purls. The increases at the beg and end of the row on the Med and Large sizes comes on the last row of the lace pattern before you switch to stockinette, you can inc at the last stitch of the lace round and the first stitch of the stockinette round and that won't disturb the pattern at all.
