When you have a skein of yarn do you roll it into a ball before you start to use it? Or just pull from the middle and leave it in the skein (long) shape?

If it's in a center pull ball or skein I generally pull from the middle until it collapses in too much and gets to be a tangled mess, then I wind it up from the other end. There really is only one right way to do and that's the way that works best for you.
