Sometimes with lace knitting you can get rid of an extra stitch by doing a k3tog rather than a k2tog.

Having looked at the photo of this pattern though, I think it will be quite obvious where the increase and decrease occured - your pattern should have shifted. Have you located where the increase was? How many rows back? Do you have a photo?
