I used cheap acrylic, RHSS I'd guess. I was going to add a border but never got a round tuit. I'd use up one color and go get the next, I added the new color wherever the old one ended. It was mostly done to fill up hours while I was babysitting. I hadn't been avidly crocheting at that point and by the end of the blanket was impressed with how much more even my tension was. It's not one that can be neatly folded because I was evening out my tension but it's useful and warm. The GKs love it. I'd never consider making a large blanket that can't go in the washer and dryer. I'll leave those to them that can and are willing to hand wash such items and have a place to lay them out to dry. I have better ways to waste time.
