Oh. I've never used Phentex. It apparently wears like iron. I hadn't looked at the sts/inch but saw the Wool Ease had a lot less yardage for the weight. That explains it maybe. Yeah, I used the super bulky and my gauge was just about what the pattern states. O U C H ! ! ! No sane person would do that but I feel like it was worth it. In the photo, you can see it's standing up, not lying flat or slouching over, and there is nothing inside it to give it shape, it does it on its own. Even after washing they stand up by themselves. I'm thinking a ball of Phentex would probably do a pair, if I get two colors I can make the sole one color and the top another, and if I get three I could make the GKs slippers with the short rows that shape the top of the toe a third color even. They have some bright colors that the kids would love mixed up. I'm thinking hot orange and hot blue or hot lime for my GS. I'll have to discuss wild colors with their mom.
