I just fell in love with that design and the color combination. I ordered 6 matching colors from KP palette (this was a fun exercise as they have about 150 colors and you could probably get away with using less). Base color looks to be close to "sweet potato". Saved a fortune on the yarn since the designer used Koigu for the model. If I ever get up to speed these would make really cute gifts.

One user said that she modified the pattern with decreases towards the ankle (her sock had "cankles"), and one other said she used a larger needle for the pattern at the top and switched to a smaller needle for the rest. Shouldn't be a problem for an experienced knitter to do a mod, or to just follow the chart on their favorite sock. In my case I'll probably just follow the instructions as written since all I want to do is look at those socks all day and wear them around the house . And I'll get my fair isle lesson in as well. Both modified socks looked good, a little more formed.
