You probably know this, but...
The bobbles are essentially five dc worked into the same stitch, only they're all incomplete. You hold the last loops, then when you have all of them you yo and pull through just as you would to finish just one dc. When you hdc next to it, the bobble should stick up. Sometimes it sticks down instead, so you have to poke it through to the outside, but it should be either a bump or a dent.
The hdc between them help define the bobbles.

Sometimes the first row doesn't look right, but if you keep going the pattern shows up better.
