Just asked my husband and he agreed the V berth is not usually 90%, but he pointed out that boats differ. A larger beamier (wider) boat might have a wider V. The bigger boats I've been on usually have separate berths and use that area for storage. Is this your boat?

Increasing less often would make it narrower. I think you're going to have to measure and do some math though.
