This is not a stupid question at all!
I went to Lion Brand's website
http://www.lionbrand.com/yarns/pound.htm . Pound of Love is 16oz= 1020yd, so proportionally, and approximately, 14oz= 893 yds. Always compare yardages and not weights (altho you might need the weight to convert to yardage like I just did). Look at it like this, for a particular weight, a thin yarn is longer yardage than a thicker yarn.
