I'm pretty sure this should read:
Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each
end every other row 4 times. Work even until piece measures 7 in from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows.
