The thing to remember is that to get a seed stitch, you need to purl the knits and knit the purls, so that the finished fabric looks like this.. like a checkerboard pattern of knits and purls:
KPKPKPKPKPK
PKPKPKPKPKP
KPKPKPKPKPK
PKPKPKPKPKP
If you're working in the round, the directions will be different than if you're turning your work.
