Help with lace-style pattern, please
I've just started knitting a wrap/scarf in some gorgeous kidsilk-style wool that I picked up at wool fair recently, but I'm doing something wrong. There are some vertical 'loops' at the back of the work near some of the holes (but not all). Pattern is as follows:
Row 1) Knit
Row 2) Purl
Row 3) K2 *K2tog, yon, K2* repeat from * to last st, K1
Row 4) Purl
Row 5) Knit
Row 6) Purl
Row 7) K4, *K2 tog, yon, K2* repeat from * to last 3 stitches, K3
Row 8) Purl

then repeat pattern to desired length of wrap. I'm wondering if I'm doing yon wrong, but apparently I should be doing it in the same way as I would for a knit stitch. What baffles me most is that the vertical stitch doesn't appear near all the holes, only on some. And it's always on the left of the holes.

I'd be grateful for any help with this - thanks.
