You're making an increase. Insert the needle as you usually would for a stitch, wrap your yarn, pull the st through, but DON'T slide it off the needle. Put the point of the needle through the back of the stitch, the 'leg' that's on the far side of the needle and wrap and pull through that too. THEN slide them both off.
