I think you can use whatever increase makes you happiest.....kf&b would probably be the easiest. I would say M1, but if this is your cast on row, there wont really be a strand between sts to knit in to.

Try looking at the comparisons of all the different increases on THIS PAGE. All are connected with their corresponding fabulous videos.
