Okay, KK, I looked around at a bunch of clapotis (es?) on the net & none of them are blocked diagonally...I'm so glad bc it's blocking now & it was gonna be oh, so difficult to reblock diagonally as in the photo schematic on the clapotis site on Knitty. So, perhaps when I wash it I will try the diagonal block
