unusual pattern question
I am working on an afghan pattern--it's unusual in the way it's written and one of the directions is worded a little differently than I'm used says, "knit or purl the stitches as they present themselves.." Does this mean if the next stitch on my needles was a purl stitch on the previous row then it will also be purled on this row and vice versa? That seems right to me....but I wanted the expert's opinion....whatcha think guys?
