if you have kids, going to the tangled Web in Chestnut hill (a Neighborhood in North West part of Philadelphia) works nicely becasue there is a bakery/ice cream place just up hill from them right on Germantown ave and a Playground right above that
if yiou want a break down of Philly Neighborhoods feel free to ask me, but you will do better if you live outside of the City itself to avoid city wage tax unless your paycheck comes from a company based in the city.
there is an EXCELLENT grade school in Chestnut Hill too 3yo-8th grade called Norwood Fontebonne Academy (my kids went there)
it was the biggest thing I missed when we moved to Maine (the high end Education)
that and ethnic food
