Yeah, I'm is this answering my question about decreasing on the wrong side?

I thought.....boy, now I'm REALLY confused!

The directions for this pattern are bugging me. Now I'm doing the back and I've noticed on the chart that the decreases for the armhole are not done on the same row. They have all the decreases done at the start of the rows, so you're doing one on the right side, and then the next on the wrong side. I can't see the reason for doing it that way.

If I make ALLl the decreases on the RIGHT side, and do the left slants and the right slants the way Amy suggests, it will look much better than doing it their way. This is a Mary Maxim pattern. Why they have the decreases that way doesn't make sense.
