Sock rows on dpns
I'm having a major issue with knitting rows on socks with dpns. Usually I avoid the problem by knitting with multi colored yarn, but I can't this time. I need to be able to knit stitches that are on the same row from one needle t the next.

For some reason, the rows always end one row beneath the stitch that I made at the beginning of the row.

I cast one 40, and divide the stitches onto three needles 10-20-10 pattern. And then I start knitting on the first stitch cast on from the last, so the first stitch I knit makes the needles hold together in a circle. I assume that the break between the first and last needle is the marker, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

What am I doing wrong?
