A squeezey ball would help you there, I have to wear splints on both my wrists because due to my medical condition they don't stay in their sockets. I can't lift anything heavy as it dislocates my wrists. I've learnt to knit quite comfortably when there on but my stepmum tried it and she couldn't manage a row.
I hope your wrist gets better soon. But if it goes on too long you should see a doctor, it's better to be safe than sorry
