Selvedged stitch is usually just for the edges of a project right? Are you sure the increases are selvedge stitch? Or do you mean that you need to know how to do a selvedge stitch and how to decrease? Selvedge stitch is when you either slip or knit a stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
