I had also posted this question over on Ravelry... and someone helped me identify what I think the pattern is. The photo of the WIP on Ravelry is done in blocks of color, so its a bit hard to tell. I am going to check out the book and see if in fact this is the pattern.

I think it is Stacked Wedges, from the book Knitting New Scarves, by Lynne Barr.
