Also, you will be hard pressed to actually find many patterns written specifically for magic loop. It is a method, not an entity unto itself - it can be used in place of dpns in any pattern. I use magic loop only for small diameter circular knitting and I've never run into a pattern that I've had trouble with because of using a different method.
