stitch marker help

I have a pattern for wristlets that read
"P one round, K three rounds, placing markers after first and before last sts of round"
It doesn't make sense to me because it seems like all the markers would be grouped together. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It may not make sense to you now, but that is what it says all right. Maybe there is a good reason for it that you will learn shortly. Maybe you will find you don't really need them and can discard them after a bit. But for now I'd just do it.

It just means to place marker between the 1st and 2nd st, then another one 1 st before the last stitch of the round. Later, you'll probably increase there for a thumb gusset.
