which type of yarn is this?
i am slightly confused i am learning to knit socks, and it has instructions for every type of yarn, but this yarn seems to fall in the middle between sock and sport yarn, so which do i knit it as. the label says use 3-4 us needles 4-4''ins, 33 rangs.

Time to do a sample, though your yarn may be a bit thicker so start with the smaller needle - it doesn't matter what you call it. CO about 40 sts and using the size 3 knit a couple inches, then see if you match the gauge given.
