I'm all alone

Hi!
I live in Limerick,Pa (home of the Premier Shops), sort of near King of Prussia, an hour from Philadelphia.

NOBODY knits near me . and there is one yarn shop near me (20 min) but something tells me it's not going to be there long like so many. I depend on the computer to continue learning more about knitting. SO is there anybody around here.

There are probably lots of knitters sitting at home thinking that they're the only ones.

Maybe you can suggest starting a group at the yarn shop, or put up a sign there asking for contact with other knitters.

Also, check to see if there's a local Yahoo group around you. There was a group that met to knit weekly at the Barnes & Noble near me, but I'd never heard of it until someone at work asked if I went to it.

You might try entering some of your knitted stuff in a county fair or other craft competition. You're sure to meet some knitters (or [egads!] crocheters) who might like to get together occasionally.

I understand about going it alone. I live in a tiny little community, and although I've met a few crocheters, I've not met any knitters here. I crochet and knit both, so that's not such a big deal. All the same, none of the people I've met so far have any interest in being social.

So . . . I come to this site and learn new things, ask questions, and find inspiration from all the beautiful projects posted here!

I did find there's a group of knitters that meets in my city, but they're on the other side of town and meet in the evenings - that might be ok in summer, but not now...and LYS - maybe they have a group, but I'm pretty sure it'd be tied in with their classes - which look pretty expensive to me. Some day I'll check it out just to be sure, but online is great - the time factor is a big thing too, right?

Hey! I live in Conshohocken!

I'm not exactly sure where Limerick is but I'm about 10 mins away from King of Prussia. I just started knitting a couple of weeks ago. Are there any Michael's stores near you? That's where I've been getting my yarn.
