Vacation
Hubby and I got back a few days ago from a vacation which took us to South Africa and Namibia. I met 2 little girls in Namibia and was able to teach one of them to knit - the other one could already knit. The one I taught picked it up very quickly, except that I had to remind her each time she came back to it how to start. Unfortunately we didn't have time to complete a project, but hopefully both girls will continue with what they've started.

I worked some more on the cowl and made a couple of phone covers. One of them was planned for a friend, but I ended up giving it to the brother of one of the girls mentioned above, as he was keen to have one and there wouldn't have been time to knit another one.

The teaching knitting experience was fun.

What a wonderful vacation! How did the knitting lesson come about? Were you knitting in public?

Wow. How cool. I bet those girls will remember you forever just as you will remember them.

It was very fulfilling. The little girl I taught to knit was a friend of another little girl whose family we spent each day with when in Namibia. The friend was keen to learn, so I taught her.
