CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT I CAN SUBSTITUTE WASHABLE EWE WITH? ITS A MEDIUM YARN , NUMBER 4. I HAVE A LOT OF YARN, BUT WANT TO MAKE SURE I'M USING THE CORRECT TYPE.

You could try a wool/acrylic blend, like Woolease or Plymouth Encore, or any other worsted #4 weight acrylic.

It knits at ~17sts/4 inches and is a wool yarn. Look for yarns that are worsted weight (of which there are many) and substitute one of them.
