Increase Sleeves Length
Hi,

I am working on this pattern:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...n-baby-sweater

It says the sleeves are 6" but I want to make it 8". I dont know how to increase it since at the cuff of the sleeves there is a 18 rows of border design and I dont know howmuch does it measure so then how will I know howmany inches I need to keep the top portion?

I need help with the sleeves please.

You don't add on to the cuff, knit the extra 2" before the cuff on the sleeve part, then just follow the instructions for the last 18 rows. In the pattern it says to knit the sleeve until it's 3, 3, 4" long then start the cuff; you'd knit it 2" more at that point then begin the cuff as written.

hi,

So you mean the cuff is total 2" I am stitching for 6month old and it says the sleeves part 4" and total sleeve is 6" which means the cuff is 2" right?

That would be right. You don't want the cuff itself any longer, or to have plain rows after it, so the extra 2" will be on the sleeve before you begin the cuff. Your stitch gauge might not be exactly 9 rows per inch, so it's easier to measure as you go to get the right size.

Hi,

Also one more thing. When I am working on the Divide for sleeves it says knit 23 and put it on the holder. Does this 23 sts include both the holes pattern on armhole section coming down from the neck?

It's the 23 stitches that make up the sleeve section. They may all be between the eyelet pattern or include one stitch from it. You won't continue the eyelets anyway, so see what stitch number is given for the body stitches too.
