Yarn for washcloths

Hi,

I want to knit some washcloths for a baby. I have extra yarn that is 100% polyester. Is this yarn ok for washcloths?

If not, can someone suggest a brand?

I don't think polyester yarn would work well for washcloths, I use whatever brand of cotton is available at Walmart, I've used Peaches and Cream, not sure of other brands. There are lots of cotton yarns available.

No acrylic or poly yarns aren't absorbable. Hobby Lobby's I love this Cotton is a very soft cotton, moreso than the other kitchen cottons, though they soften up a lot. Lion Microspun makes pretty good washcloths.

I have some Simply Cotton that I got at Hobby Lobby that is nice an soft. Not sure if it has anything else in it but cotton, but should make a nice soft washcloth for baby.

I used Bernet 100% cotton it's 10 bucks at Walamrt and u get a giant ball of it. I can make about 10 cloths from the ball
