Looking for beginner/easy throw pattern

I'm just getting back into knitting after a few years off and I'd like to make a simple throw/blanket. Can anyone help?

A simple pattern could be casting on and working garter stitch and then binding off. What do you have in mind?

Here's a few, but if you'd give us more information about what you want it would help. For example, do you want cables or blocks? Do you mind sewing parts together? Do you only want to a certain needle size or a certain weight yarn?

That last two are all garter stitch and each block is attached as it goes so no seams.

I'm pretty sure I'm not advanced enough to figure out cables. Weight and needle size don't matter though. I've made scarves, dish clothes, a "booga" bag, and a felted bag a few years back. I've never done it, but I think I could handle sewing parts together.

BTW, I think you'd be surprised at how easy cables really are. They are a knitters little secret...they look so complicated!

Another thing I could suggest for you would be to check out Lion brand yarn's website. They have a free pattern section. You will find many patterns for blankets there and I like that they're rated. They have beginner, intermediate, and advanced labels on patterns for different skill levels. If you don't understand a technique, you can Google, Youtube it, or ask a question here. We also have instructional videos at the top of the page for you to look at, if you haven't noticed.
