help with a sweater neck
Hi I am Jan and new here but I desperately need help. I am making a sweater and have up to the neck finished but I am stuck.
here is my problem:
Work from ** to ** as given for Back.
Cont even until armhole measures 5 (5½-5½-6-6) ins [12.5 (14-14-15-15) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.

Shape neck: Next row: K10 (10-11-11-11) (neck edge). Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle. Purl 1 row.
Next row: Knit to last 4 sts. Sl1K. K1. psso. K2.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more. 6 (6-7-7-7) sts.
Work 3 rows even. Cast off.

With RS of work facing, slip next 17 (19-19-21-21) sts onto a st holder. Join yarn to rem sts and knit to end of row.
Purl 1 row.
Next row: K2. K2tog. Knit to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more. 6 (6-7-7-7) sts.
Work 3 rows even. Cast off.
Please Help if you can explain it to me simply.

Hi Jan and welcome. I think these directions are pretty good. You're going to be working on one shoulder at a time starting with the left shoulder (that's left as if you were wearing the sweater). Work as for the back, and make the armholes the right length for your size. With the outside (RS) facing, knit the next 10 (10-11-11-11)sts. Turn leaving the remainder of the sts on a holder or spare yarn. These are the center neck and the right shoulder sts. Purl back to the armhole edge. Now you again have the right side, the knit side facing you. Knit across to the last 4 sts. Sl1K. K1. psso (slip one st, knit one st, pass slip st over), and K2. Purl back across the row.
Rep last 2 row
