I can't explain why or how I did this, but I knit the first 5 rows of a baby blanket in the round on circular needles when it should have been done flat. I know how to switch from knitting in the round to knitting flat, but I don't how (or if) I can remove the "join" from the first 5 rows. Thank you so much for any advice you can give me.
Hi, welcome to KH. I think your only fix is to rip it back to where you joined to work in the round and reknit it. I'm sorry I can't give you an answer you'll like better. Maybe someone else will know how to work it out another way.
Happiness is catching that dropped stitch while it's still fixable..

The only thing you can do is frog it (rip it) back and start over or at least to the point of joining. Next time be careful where your working yarn is when you turn and start knitting. To knit flat the working yarn must be onthe left needle with all the stitches.
When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.
Thanks for responding so quickly. I was afraid I was going to have to rip it out, but like you said, I don't like the idea of ripping out over 800 stitches....I'll keep my fingers crossed that there's an alternative, but I won't get my hopes up.
