Topsy-turvy inside-out toys YARN
I recently bought this book by Susan B. Anderson and want to make a couple of projects. I really like the look of her suggested yarn but Brooklyn Tweed "Shelter" is $12+ per skein.

Has any one knitted any of these toys with the suggested yarn? Can you tell me if you have enough yarn of the main colors to knit more than one toy? I want to do the snow man/xmas tree and the hen/fox which both use the same red and white and don't want to buy more than I have to. (I sound a bit cheap eh? Ha)

Or can you suggest comparable yarn?

Not cheap, practical or perhaps frugal. Never cheap!

Sorry, I can't help with your question, just felt I should comment one the cheap bit.

I haven't used the yarn, but it looks like a regular worsted weight. It's claim to fame is that it comes from American sheep and is spun in a historical mill. It might be lovely, but for a toy? I don't think I'd use wool for a toy anyway--you might need to wash it.

I'd look at Plymouth Encore worsted weight. It comes in tons of colors, and is a washable blend of acrylic and wool.
