New valances for our dining nook
As some as you might know, we are working on our home, preparing it for putting it on the market. We are leaving the area - after a nineteen year odyssey, we are moving back to our home state. The folks are getting older and we'd like to spend quality time with them while it is to be had. When I first joined knittinghelp, someone requested photos of a home improvement project, so I thought I would post this.
All of the windows are getting treatments, most of them new blinds and valance toppers. I installed valances in our dining nook today, it's amazing what a difference this makes. Even DH
commented on how nice they look.

TYSM nah, didn't make them. We have this outlet store here named 'Ollies' which is so amazing - I found valances for the main level of the house there. These retailed for $24 each and I paid $3 each for them.

The front room valances were $5 each and I saw them on ebay for $30 each. Right place, right time. I've gone back since and have not found anything as nice, I was lucky.

Originally I was not certain about how I wanted the valances to be hung - I went to this site, houzz.com go there if you want to drool (I know, very unseemly), and did a search for bay windows, valances, saw a picture that I liked and did the same. The site is great for design ideas

That was a find! I wouldn't even consider making my own if I could get them for that price. Good for you!
