Pattern instructions
I am hoping some kind soul can help me understand this pattern instruction. This is the sleeve I am working on and the pattern says: Decrease 1 stitch each side every 6 rows 2 times. Then every other row 10 times So do I:
Row 1 - Dec 2 sts each side
Row 2 - purl
Row 3 - Knit
Row 4 - purl
Row 5 - knit
Row 6 - purl

Row 7 - Dec 2 sts each
Then knit 5 more rows before beginning Dec every other row.
I'm confused and I really want to get this right so any help will be Greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Do you have a link to the pattern?

It probably means to knit 5 rows and decrease on the 6th and 12th. Then you would decrease every other row after that--not with 6 more rows.

The reason I'm not sure is that most patterns will say 'decrease in the next and every 6th row' if you are supposed to decrease on the first row of the 6th.

Ingrid, I would interpret it the same way you have.
One question for tjt: did you mean
Row 1 - Dec 2 sts each side?
It should be a dec of one stitch each side (2sts total on the entire row).
