So sorry for the late reply.
As you work it, your W2 "wraps" 2 stitches horizontally with a loop.
To "wrap" the stitches, on your LH needle, insert your RH needle front to back between the 2nd and 3rd stitches and draw up a loop. Keep the loop on your RH needle, then k2tog through the back loop.
The k2tog tbl twists the loop and makes that pretty vertical "bump" of the 2 stitches wrapped by the loop.
ETA: for the look in your picture, I'd k1, wrap the next 2, k a few more then wrap 2 more, and work the cable pattern. your mileage may vary...
