My Blanket Is Done!!!!
3 months, three sets of circular needles and I lost count of how many skeins of yarn my Union Flag blanket is FINALLY done!

When I started this project I had the intention of using it as a throw for my couch. I had no idea it would become big enough to put on my queen-sized bed! I haven't blocked it and to be honest, don't know if I should. The yarn is %100 acrylic and the whole thing is VERY HEAVY as blankets go. Thoughts?

Yippy!!!!

I think I'm going to take a break from knitting for a while and catch up on all the reading I've put aside for a while. Next project TBA later....

Wow. That is truly incredible. A marathon knit if there ever was one. Congratulations!!! It's beautiful, stunning, amazing...I run out of adjectives.

I would take it to the laundromat, put it in one of the big washers, then dry it there. Where would you block it? I really don't think you'd gain much by blocking anyhow, I've made many blankets (most crocheted) from acrylic and they do just fine sans blocking. As always YMMV and others who know more than I do will probably have better suggestions.

I am truly in awe.

Inspirational!

Acrylic doesn't usually need a "formal blocking," any wash/dry will do. That said, it will likely stretch a bit no matter what you do so...hope it doesn't grow to fit a king. LOL

Whoa! That's huge and gorgeous! I agree to go with the laundromat. I suggest washing a drying a swatch first to make sure the colors don't run.

Good idea on the test swatch. I've never had acrylics bleed but on something of this magnitude I would not risk it.

That is a GORGEOUS piece of art, LITERALLY!!!!!!!! Your commitment to get it done in months too is very commendable!!!!!

I would spray the cats with water if they ever set a paw on it.
