I am stuck!

Turn Heel as follows:
Row 1: Sl 1, K17 sts, K2 tog, K1 turn
Row 2: Sl 1, P5 sts, P2 tog, P1, turn
Row 3: Sl 1, K6, K2 tog, K1, turn
Row 4: Sl 1, P7, P2 tog, P1, turn

Repeat rows 3 and 4, increasing 1 additional K or P stitch after the Sl 1 until all side stitches are consumed. End with a purl row

Ok ............

until all side stitches are consumed. What does that mean??? How many st. should i have on my needle before i start the next step???

It means until you've knitted or purled every stitch.

For instance when you first do it, there are, say, 5 stitches left on your needle that you didn't work. The next time you make a pass in that direction there will only be 3 stitches you didn't work, and so on.

I am so confused!!!!! i have picked up and have all needles on so what do i do now??? this is the part i am stuck on
Gusset:
Beginning with needle 1, knit across heel flap. Pick up and knit 16 stitches from the side of the heel flap and knit one stitch in the gusset corner. Knit in pattern across needles 2 and 3. Pick up and knit one stitch in the gusset corner and then pick up and knit 16 from the side of the heel flap. Knit until end of round.
Stitch count is (26, 32,, 26) respectively.

Gusset Decrease and Sock Foot:
Row 1:
Needle 1: Knit until the last 3 stitches, k2 tog, k1.
Needle 2 and 3: Work in pattern around.
Needle 4: K1, SSK, knit around.


I am attaching a picture of were i am ...I watched the video but can not figure out the arangement of st on the needles. SEE what confuses me here is the 26,32,26 and yet you look down and it say 's needle 1-4???? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good news is that as long as you have the right number of total stitches you'll be ok. I normally work with a set of 4 needles instead of a set of 5, but the basic premise is the same. The front needle should have 1/2 of the total number of stitches that you started with (probably the 32 stitches -- the instep stitches) the sides and the back should have all the rest. But really it doesn't matter where the stitches are as long as you have stitch markers. Place a marker on either end of the 32 stitches from the front that you started with. (The markers can be on the side needles) You will do the decreases right before the 32 instep stitches and right after the instep stitches. So as long as you mark those correctly, their exact placement on the needles isn't super critical,

I am confused when it comes to the Stitch count is (26, 32,, 26) respectively. Makes me think only three needles ...and i would love to do just three BUT....then here >> Gusset Decrease and Sock Foot:

See where i am confused???If it is only three needles then what do i do for the 4th needle??? and if it is 4 needles what st should be where.....ohhhhhh i hate this ..maybe i should FROG and do toe up!

For three needles (and a fourth working needle)
Put 32 on the very front needle from your picture -- the one that's right above the safety pin. Divide the others among two other needles. You will have a triangle with the center of the heel at the juncture of the point of the other two needles. Do your decreases according to the pattern right before and right after you get to the 32 stitches on the front needle.

For four needles (and a fifth working needle)
Put 32 on the very front needle from your picture -- the one that's right above the safety pin. Place the turned heel on the back needle (according to your picture) and the picked up gusset stitches on the side needles. Do your decreases according to the pattern right before and right after you get to the 32 stitches on the front needle.

That will work. The important thing to understand is that you have the top (sometimes called the instep) of the sock (the 32 stitches I keep mentioning) and the decreases need to be on either side of those stitches. Technically it doesn't matter where the stitches are as long as the decreases are done on either side of the instep stitches.
