keeping yarn on needles

what do you do when you have a pattern with yo's and it increases the yarn on the needle, how do you keep them on there to continue to knit?
I have alot of yo's on this pattern, using size 17 long needles

If it is alot of stitchers, like when making an afghan, you may need to use circular needles and knit back and forth on the rows like you would if they were straight needles. Does this answer your question?
