I tried dpns tonight....
size 3 no less....and I haven't dropped a stitch yet!!! I'm SOOOOOO excited!

I'm making a baby hat for the compassionate KAL. I'll post pics in the FO section once I'm finished...had hoped for tonight but I'm exhausted from packing up our apartment (MOVING DAY IS TOMORROW!!!).

Just wanted to share my excitement!!!

That's REALLY impressive! I felt like I had some kind of neurological disorder the first time I tried to use DPNs...they were small. I had to make mittens on 10.5's before I "got" it. Kinda like when you have to learn to color with the big, fat crayons?

I was fighting with DPNs last night, too!! Unfortunately, I lost the battle and had to put them away for awhile. So, I made a dishcloth just to prove to myself that I can still knit! I thought about it all last night, though, and I think that I figured out my problem during my sleep. I'm ready to give it another try this morning...

The hardest part is the first couple of rows. Once you get them on, it's much easier. Even if it's loose and floppy in the beginning--keep going to get the experience. It's an excellent skill to have.

Yay Cristy!!

Like Ingy says, the first few rows are a pain. I have to lay the needles in my lap or work on a table to keep my work stable. But after that, it's a breeze!

Again, yay for you!!
