Ever feel...

a little overwhelmed when you log in the forum? I've been lurking for almost a year now (shame on me, I know!) But since creating a log in name, I want to read and respond to everything that comes up as a new post! I've never really joined because I know I'll get sucked in. Then, I'll spend more time in the forum talking about knitting instead of actually knitting! I see all the new posts and I just want to go through every one of them. All of the sudden, its almost 11PM and I have to get up at 5 tomorrow! How do you pick/choose which topic to read? I haven't even ventured into the blog section yet! Must... stay... away... or I'll be on until 2AM!!

I know how you feel ! I read everything.Can't answer most of the questions but have I learned alot. I was up till 5am Saturday night reading Ingrids blog and didn't get through all of it ! But sure did laugh alot.

Don't worry April. The only people who can keep up with all the posts are KK and Ingrid. They are SUPER-KHers!!!! :-)

About getting sucked in... Don't worry about it! join us... We all just do our best around here to keep up. you know you want to.... . Sometimes we just have to pick and choose what specifically interests us. you don't need to sleepl...When I first joined, I would spend HOURS and HOURS on the forums just drink more coffee only to realize, later, that that was 2 hours I could have been knitting. you can knit while browsing the forums if you scroll with your toes... It's great that we're so huge we can't all keep up. being a KH zombie makes you cool... Anway we're glad you're here; doesn't matter if you post once, ten, or 100 times a day! KH is your life, don't deny it!

many times i feel like i have to chime in on everything, a lot of the time i have to lay down some of my wacked humor, but for sure i get a kick just reading everyone's stuff. it really makes my day and i have learned a million things!

I do learn TONS of things. I actually learned more on this website than the Michael's knitting class I took! I just hope one day, I'll be able to give someone useful advice.

Okay, one more post, then off to bed.

So I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and by 4:30 I decided to get up. Soooooo, what do I do..............put a cup of coffee on and open a browser.
I wondered who'd be on at this ungodly hour. Andrea was.

Hildie summed it up pretty well. I promised myself not to start reading blogs, and when I found myself being sucked in , I slapped my hands and pushed away from the computer.

When my eyes focus, I'll pick up my knitting and comtimplate the laundry basket overflowing with socks and underwear which needs to be folded and put away. sigh

I just can't stay away. Can't. And it's not just an issue of willpower--I love this place!! I get knitting tips, I just found a new pattern I love by thread browsing (love it when that happens), and I have to have a morning giggle! Plus I've made friends here, and I love hanging out with my friends, even if we're not online at the same time.

I can't stay away either. I find myself checking this board more often than I care to admit----- but it's fun!! I do find the blogs intimidating- I had one for a while, but found myself feeling left out if people didn't respond to something I had said- and I know that's silly. I've found that for me, keeping up with the regular forums is enough- I generally stay out of blogdom, because then I feel like I have to read them all!!!
I love the feeling of community that is here, and seeing all the beautiful things that everybody makes. I can't imagine not being here!! (a gazillion time a day.......)

Hildie!!

This is one of the reasons I'm here all the time, too--the laughs! I come into work 1/2 hour early everyday to get my time in here--that's 7:30 folks! It starts my day off right, I have to say. I, too, find myself staying up way too late just because I "checked in one last time before going to bed." Then spend the next two hours making up limericks or something!

It's a good thing that the 'management' frowns on personal computer usage during the day--the latest policy--or I'd be in every half hour.

I will say, though, that I no longer have sore hands from over-knitting because I take breaks here. I may not get as many stitches in a night, but the knitting means more to me now that I can share this addiction with people of like minds. I mean, who else is going to get excited by a pretty hank of yarn!

And Momwolf--you read my blog?!? I haven't even done that!!
