Left twist

In my pattern, it says:

"Left Twist - knit 2nd st on LH needle tbl, then k first 2 sts tog tbl"

How do I do this?? I THINK that I regularly knit the first st, then knit the 2nd through the back, but then I don't know how to knit the first 2 tog. Which two?? The ones that are now on the left or right needle? Is this a decrease? I'm confused if it is, because the next row has the same number of stitches as the first row???

You're basically going to knit the stitches out of order to make a tiny cable.

Skip over the first stitch on the left needle and knit into the back loop of the second stitch. Without sliding anything off, reinsert your needle through both back loops, knit them together, and then slide it all off.
