I need help with a pattern again!
First of all, the pattern is made for a girl and I want to reverse the button holes to the other side. Secondly, I only have 4 buttons not 5 so I need to know how to space them out for four because the pattern doesn't indicate working in inches for the frontband. If I understand this pattern, it looks like the front part of the sweater is all one piece maybe???? Anyhow, if you can look and give me the directions on how to change the sides and how to space 4 buttons instead of 5 I would appreciate it. You can pm me with them if you like! Thanks for all your help!

Directions are for children’s size 2. Changes for sizes 4, 6 and 8 are in parentheses.

You have a left front and a right front, so it is two pieces. The buttonholes should be easy to figure, since the buttonhole band is knitted on after the pieces are complete. Then you'll know the length and can space your holes accordingly, and can just switch which side you put the buttonholes on.

Thanks, Ingrid! I think I was looking at it sort of in one demention and it was something else. If I understand it correctly once the fog cleared, on this sweater the button holes are knitted vertically not horizontally???? That is what I kept looking at trying to figure out why that didn't make sense. Since I see that now, I can well figure out where to put the buttonholes! Tx again from a slow learner!

I've found that sometimes the act of asking the question clears things up for people--a way of thinking it through.
