double cast on question
I've just started knitting recently and I'm trying the double cast on method for a scarf (first one). What I'm confused about is when I get to the end of my first knit row, (the first loop of the cast on), it seems not to be a real stitch. I'm guessing because you get 2 loops with the first stitch of the cast on. Do I treat these 2 loops as 1, or do I knit them separately?

Thanks to anyone who can figure out this description of what's happening!

Yeah, it does look a little different, but it is considered a stitch, and should be counted and knit separately from its neighbor. HTH

They may be right, in this particular case, and even if not, they may drop off pieces of information which will come in very handy if you file them away carefully in your brain for future reference. ~Elizabeth Zimmerman
