very specific pattern question

so i'm wanting to make the 'bell sleeve shrug' listed here: http://beatknitpatterns.blogspot.com...eve-shrug.html
here's part of the pattern.

Work all "decrease rows" as follows:
Right Side: K1, K2tog, K to last 3 st, SSK, K1
Wrong Side: P1, P2tog, P to last 3 st, SSP, P1

Work all "increase rows" as follows:
Right Side: K1, M1, K to last stitch, M1, K1
Wrong Side: P1, M1, P to last stitch, M1, P1


Cast on 70 (74, 80, 86) stitches.

Rows 1-5: Work straight stockinette stitch (st st) starting with purl side.

Work "decrease row" next row and every 9th (12th, 10th, 12th) row 10 (7, 9, 8) times.

Work straight st st until piece measures 26 (30, 30, 31) inches long.

Work "increase row" next row and every 9th (12th, 10th, 12th) row 10 (7, 9, 8) times.

My question is: between inc/dec rows, what do you do? you start off in st st, but do you continue between inc/dec rows? if so, do you start with P like before? hmmmm... the mind boggles! thanks in advance- psychedelic_oatmeal

All rows in between increase or decrease rows will be plain stockinette stitch. The purl side will look like rows of little interlocking 'bumps' for lack of a better term, and the knit side will look like rows and columns of 'V's. So if the 'V' side is facing you as you start a row you will knit, and if a 'bumpy' side is facing you at the beginning of a row you will purl.

Yep, so I'm hoping I can follow those directions. I have kind of a mental block with that right side/wrong side thing... if I'm making it, it's pretty much ALL the wrong side. Sigh...
