$98 knitted boxer shorts!!!

I just got GREETINGS FROM KNIT CAFE from my library to see if I want to buy it. I love a bunch of patterns in it but then there's baby stuff that I don't knit...

but anyhoo, I want to make the BOXER SHORTS that are so cute!
They list Twisted Sisters Mirage yarn and I just did a google and it's $13.98 a skein, you need 7..... $98 for those boxer shorts! (they're good to themselves in Hollywood)

Oh, question: the twisted sisters yarn has 52% rayon 49% cotton. Does that rayon help them keep their shape or something? Could I just use some cotton in my stash? Vat do you tink?

I don't know if I would go to 100% cotton. Rayon would add a silky texture and much form. I'd look for a substitute!

All I know is I'm with you... I'm trying to find a substitute for yarn that would cost over $70 to make a toddler dress!

Or maybe all seasons cotton (if you can hit a sale)
Twisted sister is pricey and hard to find in my area (east coast) that skirt in that book is ADORABLE, but the yarn just costs too much to make it worth my while. Besides the fact that I can sew a skirt in 2 hours for 20 bucks tops and have it be equally cute
