Drop Extra Loop
Sandra here. I'm not sure I'm doing this forum thing right but I have a question about instructions for a project I'm doing. It says to "K, dropping extra loop." I don't know what the extra loop is or how to drop it. Can you help?

Could you give more detail? Maybe post the instructions for the row before? That would help to answer your question.

My guess is that in the row before, you were supposed to wrap the yarn twice around the needle when making your stitches. If this is the case, you knit into the first "loop" on the needle and when you drop the yarn off the needle, you also drop the 2nd loop off, creating a long stitch.

Yeah, did you wrap the yarn twice around the needle last row? That would make an extra loop that you need to drop off of the needle to make an elongated stitch.

Even just a yarn over (yo) could produce a 'loop' of sorts.

sandradin..You can generally tell which is the stitch to drop off because it appears much looser than the others with a lot more 'give' and length to it. You literally just let it drop off the needle..really like accidentally dropping a stitch!
